The 2019 Nike N7 Collection Will Include An Air Jordan 8 Pendleton

As a part of the 2019 Nike N7 Collection, this year’s Air Jordan releases 2019 will include an Air Jordan 8 made up of Pendleton fabrics. Around Fall, Jordan Brand and Nike are known to team up and put together a collection that contributes to the N7 Fund, supporting Aboriginal communities and Native American sport organizations. Aboriginal rapper Taboo was the fact of last year’s N7 Collection, which drew inspiration from his personal Native American cultural heritage and roots. He reported that his style was influenced by the outfits of traditional Native American dancers in East L.A. The color palette and “intricate beadwork patterning” also influenced the collection.

Back in 2013, Nike teamed up with the Pendleton Woolen Mills (PWM) to create an N7 blanket. The design of the innovative yet traditional blanket drew inspiration from the patterns on traditional Native American attires. The blanket was also inspired by Nike Flyknit. It featured a repetitive pattern of arrows that got larger and larger towards the center. Alongside the blanket, Nike also released apparel and sneakers for both men and women. The apparel included a Windrunner Jacket Elements, and a men’s and women’s Graphic Tee. The sneakers included separate men’s and women’s iterations of the Air Force 1 High and the Roshe Run.

The Air Jordan releases 2019 from this year’s Nike N7 Collection will indeed include an Air Jordan 8 iteration, but the image you see above is not of the actual sneaker. Considering Nike N7’s previous collaboration with the Pendleton Woolen Mills (PWM), it is not surprising that it will be made up of Pendleton fabric and will apparently also feature the signature patterns of the textile company. Reportedly, this Air Jordan 8 iteration will be dressed up in various shades of Grey, while also sporting Gold-colored detailing. Of course, the “N7” logo will be among the brand that will appear on it.

Jordan Brand Is Releasing A Trio Of “Reflective” Colorways This Summer

Jordan Brand’s three upcoming Air Jordan releases are “Reflective” varitions of OG colorways from the Bulls’ first championship three-peat. Starting with the Air Jordan 6 that you can see above, you may have recognized that this “Reflective” is using the OG “Infared” colorway as its base. At the time when the Air Jordan 6 was introduced and Michael Jordan laced up in it, he was on his way towards leading the Chicago Bulls to their first NBA Championship victory. Instead of nearly all-Black, its uppers are now completely reflective. Black still appears over the heels, laces, midsoles and tongues, and the Infrared-colored accents are the same as the original.

Michael Jordan rocked the Air Jordan 7 in 1992, the year in which the Chicago Bulls won their second consecutive NBA Championship. This second Reflective iteration is a variation of the “Cardinal” colorway iteration, which was one of the five colorways from 1992. The Air Jordan 7 OG “Cardinal” was eventually re-released twice after that, once in 2006 and then in 2011. Once again, when compared to the original, 3M reflective material has replaced the plain White uppers. However, the Red-, Gold- and White-colored detailing, including the embroidered “Jumpman” logo, can still be spotted. Moreover, its soles are similarly covered in Black, almost entirely.

Last but not least, the third “Reflective” iteration that will be joining this summer’s Air Jordan releases 2019 will be that of the Air Jordan 8. More specifically, it is essentially the Air Jordan 8 “Bugs Bunny” but 3M reflective uppers instead of plain White ones. The OG “Bugs Bunny” colorway of the Air Jordan 8 made its retail debut back on April 20th, 2013 at a price of $160. Apart from the reflective uppers, this variation still features the same color blocking and detailing, which includes Black-, Grey- and True Red-colored accents. Even the chenille “Jumpman” logo on its tongues sports the same color scheme.
