It seems that one of this year’s foremost Air Jordan releases 2019 for Black Friday is going to be a “What The” colorway of the Air Jordan 4. As of lately, sneakerheads have been annually looking forward to Thanksgiving week and this year will be no different. For Black Friday last year, Jordan Brand released three different sneakers. The Black Friday 2018 release included the Air Jordan 11 WMNS “Neutral Olive,” the Air Jordan 12 “Gym Red” and the Union x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG. For its 30th anniversary, the Air Jordan 4 with the “What The” treatment will be the center of attention on Black Friday.
For Black Friday 2016, Jordan Brand treated sneakerheads by bringing back the Air Jordan 3 OG ‘88 “True Blue” in remastered form. Jordan Brand has a tradition of bringing back an original or dropping a brand new Air Jordan 11 Mid colorway every year, referred to as the annual Air Jordan 11 releases. Last year, it was the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” that made its highly-anticipated comeback on December 10th, 2016 for the film’s 20th Anniversary. In 2017 though, it seems Jordan Brand will dropping not one but two Air Jordan 11 Mid releases, one of which will be the Air Jordan 11 “Midnight Navy” for Black Friday. The Air Jordan 3 “Cyber Monday,” as its name suggests, was supposed to make its retail debut on Cyber Monday, November 28th. Back in 2006, Nike had unveiled and eventually dropped a “Fantastic Four” collection. The collection had included four different models in colorways inspired by the Fantastic Four’s team members, while a fifth silhouette represented the team’s long-standing arch nemesis, Dr. Doom. The sneakerheads had been the Air Max 90 “Mr. Fantastic,” Air Force 1 Low “Invisible Woman,” Air Max 95 “Human Torch,” Dunk High “The Thing,” and the Air Foamposite Pro “Dr. Doom.” Different sneakerheads probably have their own favorites from that collection. Ten years later, Nike has decided to bring back one of those colorways that is perfect for the annual retail shopping occasion of Black Friday. Black Friday is the annual American holiday that is observed on November’s fourth Thursday, which is the day after Thanksgiving. Usually, a majority of U.S. retailers do not reveal what will be available to shoppers at discounted prices on Black Friday, but there is still no harm in knowing what to expect. An example of this would be that last year on Black Friday alone, Amazon made sales worth a total of 7.4 million in the United Kingdom. There are many items that tend to end up becoming popular purchases on Black Friday and like every year, adidas sneakers will definitely be among them. Along with a photo, rumors regarding the possibility that Jordan Brand is potentially working on a “What The” version of the Air Jordan 1 began circulating at the beginning of this month. Around the same time, another new photo had also popped up that suggested that perhaps the Air Jordan 3 is also going to be receiving the “What The” treatment this year. Oddly enough, it seems that one of the model’s colorways from the past that this “What The” iteration apparently borrows from is the Air Jordan 3 “True Blue,” which itself is returning this year.
