The NBA season is long gone, and preparations for the playoffs had begun ever since April. In fact, the NBA Playoffs started on April 16th. While the Cleveland Cavaliers had no clue what team they would be facing off against in the Easter Conference Finals, they had nothing to worry about, considering that their roster includes the likes of Kyrie Irving, a.k.a. “Uncle Drew.” One of the reasons the All-Star point guard is such a value asset for the team is because of elite play, which includes his killer crossover that the latest colorway of his second signature sneaker model is inspired by.
Anyone who has watched Kyrie Irving play will agree that he is not a typical point guard in the NBA. The athlete who has moonlighted as Uncle Drew in a number of Pepsi commercials often tends to treat his games as if they are his own personal playground. Kyrie’s fellow NBA athletes who have played against him previous have likely grown quite accustomed to having their legs turned into petroleum jelly courtesy of the point guard’s crossover. This upcoming iteration of the Kyrie 2 draws inspiration from Kyrie’s swift crossover that is nearly impossible to counter.
In recent times, perhaps two of the most noteworthy renditions of the Kyrie 2 were the silhouette’s “Huarache” and “Ky-rispy Kreme” colorways. With the Cleveland Cavaliers in the third round of their exploits, Nike has whipped up a brand new colorway for their star player’s second signature silhouette. The sneaker is dressed up in a black, orange, red and white color scheme. Considering that midfoot straps are covered in red caution-like stripes, if Kyrie ever decides to rock it on the court, it will serve as a warning of his killer crossover. The sneaker also features Kyrie’s logo on the tongue and his first name is spelled out on the heels in bold black and white.
With the playoffs underway, it is very likely that plenty of other NBA athletes will fall victim to Kyrie’s deadly crossover. However, before sneakerheads get to witness that, they can go out and cop a pair of the Kyrie 2 “Crossover” since it hits the shelves on May 14th.
