Next month’s Air Jordan releases 2019 will include numerous debuting models falling under Jordan Brand’s futuristic “Flight Utility” moniker. David Creech, Jordan Brand’s Vice President of Design, has described Flight Utility as the next step towards innovation. Flight Utility is bringing Jordan Brand to the forefront once again, with footwear designs that are both functional and innovative, while staying true to the brand’s core DNA. The Air Jordan 33, which debuted last year in October 2018, was the prime example of Jordan Brand’s Flight Utility ethos. In just a few months though, Jordan Brand has managed to whip up four other Flight Utility models that will debut next month.
Last year, it was Jordan Brand that released a “Chinese New Year” Pack commemorating the beginning of the Year of the Rooster. The pack consisted of special colorways of the Air Jordan 6 and the Air Jordan 32 Low. Both models featured nearly all–Black uppers with firework and traditional floral patterns embroidered onto them. While there was no collection from Nike, an Air Foamposite One “Chinese New Year” colorway was released back in February 2018. While its color scheme was different, it also featured similar firework graphics over its Foam shell uppers. For the 2019 “Chinese New Year” Pack, Nike has actually teamed up with both Converse and Jordan Brand.
