Winning Olympic gold is one of the foremost goals and motivating factors for all the athletes who participate in the Games. This Sunday, Sarah Sjostrom set a new world record by completing the 100m butterfly in just 55.48 seconds and became the first female swimming gold medalist from Sweden. Lars Frolander was the only other swimming gold medalist from Sweden, who won the Olympic gold back in 2000 in the men’s 100m butterfly. On the very first day of this month, Team USA had their final exhibition game prior to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics against Nigeria at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. It is not surprising that Team USA ended up being victorious with a score of 110-66. DeMar DeRozan, the shooting guard of the Toronto Raptors, performed quite impressively, scoring 13 points and 5 assists. However, it was Carmelo Anthony and Jimmy Butler who dominated the game. This Monday, all the members of the USA Men’s Basketball National Team 2016 were in Las Vegas at the Mendenhall Center in order to practice for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. The very first official photo of this year’s Olympic basketball team was posted by Nike Basketball on their Twitter account (@nikebasketball). Along with the fact that a majority of the Team USA roster will laced up in Nike kicks during the 2016 Summer Olympics, Nike is also the officially men’s and women’s apparel provider.
