The Air Jordan 33 Low has just debuted among recent Air Jordan releases 2019 in two colorways, one of which is “Guo Ailun” PE. In case you do not know who Guo Ailun is, he happens to be a Chinese basketball player who plays for both the country’s national team and the Chinese Basketball Association team, the Liaoning Flying Leopards. Even his uncle Guo Shiqiang was a famous basketball player and also his coach. Guo Ailun is currently Jordan Brand’s only Chinese signature star. However, this is not the first time that an Air Jordan PE designed for him is making its way to retailers.
Guo Ailun signed with Jordan Brand on May 10th, 2017. He is not only the first Chinese basketball player but also the first Asian athlete to become a member of the Jordan Brand family. Jordan Brand welcomed him by gifted him an Air Jordan 33 PE. As you may recall, that Air Jordan 33 “Guo Ailun” PE later arrived at select Jordan Brand retailers only in the Greater China region and retailed at a price of $175. This exclusive Air Jordan 33 PE iteration was dressed up in a combination of Jade Green, Red and White. Unfortunately, this colorway never hit the shelves stateside.
The color scheme of Guo Ailun’s new Air Jordan 33 Low PE is not too different from that of his Air Jordan 33 PE from last year. Its uppers are almost tonal since they are predominantly covered in a shade of Teal. The only traces of contrast come from the Metallic Gold-colored accents, the Black-colored stitching on the elastic fasteners and straps, and the plain White heel pull tabs and midsoles. Chinese characters can also be spotted on the side of the midsoles. Its Teal-colored outsoles actually glow in the dark. Unlike other recent Air Jordan releases 2019 though, this PE iteration is currently only available in China.
Air Jordan 33 Low PE “Guo Ailun” Release Date: April 4th, 2019 CD9561-103 | $160
