Back in May 2015, adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams had teamed up to introduce a Stan Smith “Jacquard” Pack. The pack included two different iterations of the adidas Stan Smith “Jacquard,” a Navy-colored and an Off-White-colored one. Both adidas and Pharrell ensured that the enduring and simplistic design of the Stan Smith would be retained, while a floral jacquard print was incorporated onto its uppers. The two colorways had a Navy-colored and Off-White-colored bases that were covered with vibrant hues featured in the floral aesthetic. Apparently, adidas and Pharrell have collaborated again to drop another floral jacquard-themed rendition of Stan Smith, but in its mid-top form. Sneakerheads are probably aware that adidas Originals, the brand’s subdivision, has been busy reviving and revitalizing adidas classics. Pharrell Williams has already been proving to be very valuable for addias Originals’ most valuable resource, and he has now teamed up with the Three Stripes subdivision once again for their Spring/Summer 2016 collection. This brand new, upcoming collection has been nicknamed “Pink Beach” and it draws inspiration from the charm and marvel of island culture. However, the most unique aspect of this collection is that it includes not one but two different colorways each of two never-before-seen silhouettes that are being introduced for the very first time.
Pharrell Williams has designed his very first Originals models for Summer 2016 and it has been dubbed the adidas Elastic Lace Up and the adidas Elastic Slip On, which is definitely fit for the coming hot season. Since these Elastic Lace Up and Slip On silhouettes draw inspiration from the adidas Stan Smith, they have been designed to be as simple, with smooth tooling, and without any noticeable branding. The adidas Originals “Pink Beach” collection consists of the same two iterations for both the Lace Up and Slip On versions, which means that it includes a total of four sneakers.
The uppers of both these models are actually made up of leather with stretch patched-tape incorporated into them, while they are also equipped molded nubuck heels. The first colorway is relatively simpler, with the entire uppers and even the soles featuring a predominantly clean white look, while the only other hue that can be spotted is the green covering the heels. The other colorway is multicolored, with the uppers covered in stripes with a predominant brown hue, while the soles are once again clean white.
Considering that the weather keeps getting warmer, these summer-ready kicks are certainly worth copping. This Pharrell Williams x adidas Pink Beach collection has already begun hitting the shelves at various retailers in the United Kingdom, and soon it will also end up making its stateside retail debut.
