While not a part of the upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018, The Shoe Surgeon‘s latest custom creation draws inspiration from Japanese art. Not too long ago, Dominic Chambrone a.k.a. The Shoe Surgeon designed the Air Mars Jordan 1, which incorporated the design concepts of the Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard shoes into the Air Jordan 1. A limited number of pairs were available at a price of $1,800 at the REIGN x 10 Corso Como New York location at 1 Fulton Street. The Shoe Surgeon is back with another Air Jordan 1 custom, this time using the OFF-White x Air Jordan 1 as the base.
If you regularly keep track of all the latest Air Jordan releases, you are like familiar with The Shoe Surgeon, the renowned sneaker craftsman, customizer and designer whose real name is Dominic Chambrone. For Halloween, he crafted a custom Air Jordan 1 iteration that he dubbed “All Hallows’ Eve.” Using the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 as the base, he added python detailing across its entire uppers and Nike “Swoosh” logos. This customized Air Jordan 1 “All Hallows’ Eve” eventually retailed for $3,500. The Shoe Surgeon’s latest project seems to be even more special and unique, which is a custom Air Jordan 1 inspired by the NikeCraft x Tom Sachs Mars Yard.
Dominic Chambrone, who is better known within the sneaker community as “The Shoe Surgeon,” really surpassed his previous creations with his latest custom, an Air Jordan 1. The famed sneaker customizer designed this custom Air Jordan 1 back in January 2017 and though he has worked on the Air Jordan 1 before, this particular custom creation was exceptional. Dominic actually recruited artist Gillean Clark to laser print his artwork onto the vegetable-tanned leather uppers of the sneaker, which also featured Red- and White-colored detailing. The Shoe Surgeon seems to have worked on the Air Jordan 1 again, this time designing a premium variation of the model’s recent “Top 3” colorway.
