After the Air Jordan 11, now the Air Jordan 13 is also receiving the “Cap And Gown” treatment to join this month’s Air Jordan releases 2019. Just a year prior to his scheduled graduation from the University of North Carolina, Michael Jordan entered the 1984 NBA draft and was selected by the Chicago Bulls. Thus, Michael Jordan departed to pursue a professional basketball career and did not manage to graduate at the time. IN 1986 though, Michael Jordan resumed his studies and successfully earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography. Jordan Brand’s “Cap And Gown” colorways are based on the theme of graduation.
Last year, Jordan Brand fulfilled the longstanding desire of sneakerheads to wear an Air Jordan pair, especially the Air Jordan 11, to their graduation ceremony and prom. Thus, Jordan Brand designed the “Graduation (Prom Night” colorway of the Air Jordan 11. To make it suitable to be worn with a suit and even a tuxedo, Jordan Brand gave the Air Jordan 11 an all-Black look. So everything, including its basllictic mesh uppers, inner lining, laces, midsoles and patent leather mudguards, was covered in Black. It was even equipped with smoky Black-colored outsoles. The Air Jordan 11 “Cap And Gown” was designed to look like dress shoes when worn.
It seems that Jordan Brand has offered soon-to-graduate, male sneakerheads an alternative to lace up in for their graduation ceremony and prom night this year. As mentioned, the Air Jordan 13 “Cap And Gown” is the second iteration of its kind. The base of the Air Jordan 13’s uppers appears to be made up of suede, with glossy patent leather over a major portion. Like the Air Jordan 11, it is also entirely covered in Black, which includes the branding, inner lining laces and soles. You will soon be able to rock it with a tux since it will be among this month’s Air Jordan releases 2019.
