The Air Max 95 Receives Its First-Ever What The-Treatment On Its 20th Anniversary

It was two decades ago when Nike introduced the Air Max 95 as an innovative signature running shoe, and it did not take long for the shoe to makes its place as an iconic addition to the Nike Air Max family. It also did not take long for the Air Max 95 to make a name for itself as a running shoe because of the superior heel support that it provides since its forefront and heel both contain the Nike Air Max cushioning system. Therefore, in celebration of two decades of greatness of the Air Max 95, Nike is scheduled to drop a very special iteration of the running shoe on one of the September Nike release dates 2015.

WP-Nike-AM95-OG-QS-What-The_02This year, Nike has decided to commemorate the historical legacy of the Air Max 95, for the running shoe’s success in remaining ahead of the game both on the street and track. In fact, the shoe’s 20th Anniversary marks the fact that it has surpassed the track to become a favorite everyday shoe for many sneakerheads. While the all-new rendition being discussed is being referred to as “Greedy,” it is actually the latest installment in Nike’s hybrid “What the” series. Since it is indeed a hybrid colorway, it is actually a combination of four different classic OG colorways of the Air Max 95 from the past. This is actually the first time that the Nike Air Max has received the What the-treatment.

Much like any OG version of the Air Max 95, this version also features a construction made up of full suede and mesh, while the lateral and medial side of each running shoe is adorned in clashing patterns. The four Air Max OG colorways that make brief appearances on this hybrid shoe include the “Grape,” “Hot Red,” “Neon,” and “Safety Orange.” Moreover, the shoe also sports signature reflective accents and the midsole is covered in black so that it does not get dirty easily.
