Perhaps it is a bit too late to report this or perhaps not. Nonetheless, Ewing Athletics did not miss the opportunity of celebrating the recent Holiday Season with a special sneaker release that was a result of the brand’s latest collaboration. For the creation of a special Christmas-themed Ewing 33 Hi iteration, Ewing Athletics joined forces with Packer Shoes, a well-known New Jersey-based family own sneaker store. The Ewing 33 Hi colorway was eventually dubbed “Miracle on 33rd St.” and since its Ewing release 2015 took place before the end of the previous years, sneakerheads are probably assuming they can no longer get their hands on a pair.
The origin of Packer Shoes can actually be dated back to 1907 and after having evolved over the years, the store is now located in Teaneck, New Jersey. Although the latest footwear from some of the leading brands can be found at Packer Shoes, collaborations are not new for them. They have collaborated with Reebok quite often, with collaborative projects usually involving retro Reebok models, namely the Pump and the Workout.
Since the “Miracle on 33rd St.” colorway of Patrick Ewing’s signature sneaker is Christmas themed, it sports a clean yet textured full grain leather upper that is dressed up in a crisp White hue. In order to make this sneaker adequately breathable, its collar section, toe box and tongue are all perforated. Of course, this Ewing 33 Hi iteration is named after the famous Christmas film of a similar name and the Holiday theme is made evident by the candy cane-like heel straps and laces. The Christmas theme is further continued by the Green accents that adorn its midsole, while the sneaker is also equipped with a Gum outsole and faux metallic Gold rear buckle.
The fact of the matter is that even though the Ewing release 2015 of the Packer Shoes x Ewing 33 Hi “Miracle on 33rd St.” took place last year, the sneaker is still available at select retailers. Sneakerheads will just have to spend $133 to cop a pair.
