Months ago, the rumors that were circulating led to the assumption and misconception that the sneaker featured here was a Player Exclusive colorway of the Under Armour Curry One Low. However, this was more than just a rumor because friends and family of Stephen Curry already received a pair way before there was any hint or sign that this sneaker would ever hit the shelves. It was only later that it became known that there were plans for a general Under Armour release 2016 of the Curry One Low “Championship,” which has already take place at the beginning of this year.
Near the end of last year, the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry himself were busy making an effort to once again win the championship. It was unfortunate that they failed in achieving their goal, but the rest of the team’s season can definitely referred to as an overall victorious one. Apparently, the upcoming Under Armour Curry One Low “Championship” iteration pays tribute to this very fact. In fact, the colorway is more specifically a nod to Stephen Curry winning the MVP during the 2014-15 NBA season and his team’s championship victory during that season’s NBA Finals, which he certainly played a part in.
The Under Armour Curry One Low “Championship” appears to be a simple yet sophisticated sneaker with a predominantly clean and crisp White-colored upper. The entire upper also features a wide range of symbolic gold accents that really give the sneaker championship vibes and add a luxurious touch to it. If sneakerheads pay attention to the sneaker’s tongue tab, they will notice that it refers to the first MVP award that Stephen Curry had received.
Rest assured the Under Armour Curry One Low “Championship” did indeed hit the shelves at select retailers like Footlocker when its Under Armour release 2016 took place on January 1st. Sneakerheads should still be able to cop a pair for $110.
