2015 had marked the 30th anniversary Jordan Brand and their inaugural Air Jordan 1 model, so they had introduced the Pinnacle series in celebration of the landmark milestone. They had even dropped a handful Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle colorways, each boasting a luxurious and premium aesthetic because of the deluxe mix of materials they were made up of. It must have been surprising for Jordanheads to learn that the recently released Air Jordan 4 PRM “Black Pony Skin” was actually not a part of the Pinnacle series. However, it seems that the Air Jordan 6 has received the Pinnacle treatment.
Sneakerheads will be even more surprised to learn that the very first Air Jordan 6 Pinnacle is yet another sneaker that is a part of Jordan Brand’s 2016 Holiday Season Collection. Now it makes sense why Marcus Jordan seemed so impressed after having received a preview of the Jumpman’s Holiday 2016 releases. Even though Instagram and Twitter user @zsneakerheadz has reported that the Air Jordan 6 Pinnacle will be amongst the winter Air Jordan arrivals, no actual photo of the sneaker is available yet. However, so far the colorway is being referred to as the “Metallic Gold/White” iteration.
This suggests this upcoming Pinnacle rendition of the Air Jordan 6 might be similar to the “Oscars” PE version of the silhouette that Spike Lee had received last year. At the same time, it is also possible that the sneaker might actually resemble the Air Jordan 6 “Golden Moments” or the Air Jordan 6 from the Defining Moments Package. This means that the metallic gold hue could actually turn out to be featured in the form of accents rather than making a predominant appearance.
If this Air Jordan 6 Pinnacle “Metallic Gold/White” is indeed a part of Jordan Brand’s 2016 Holiday Season Collection, then it will obviously hit the shelves during December this year. Despite being a Pinnacle version, it is being rumored that the price of this sneaker will be $250 rather than a whopping $400.
