Several weeks ago, Nike finally dropped the second installment in Kyrie Irving’s signature sneaker line, which arrived at retailers in its debut “Effect” colorway. The Nike Kyrie 2 once again hit the shelves as a part of the Nike Basketball 2015 Christmas Collection, a day after Christmas on December 26th. It is safe to say that the second Kyrie model is off to a good start, but this is just the beginning, and it was only a matter of time until Nike dropped another rendition. Precisely that has happened with the Nike releases 2016 of the silhouette’s third iteration.
The Kyrie 2 “Inferno” is one of the first Nike sneakers to kick off the New Year. Nike claims that the Kyrie 2 is equipped with cushioning that is “lighter than air.” It is apparently also equipped with an innovative outsole and strap. The outsole of the new model has been specifically designed to cater to Kyrie’s fluid and rapid motion. Its heel also includes the Nike Zoom Air unit that is not only lighter but also sports a lower profile, which enables it to deliver responsive cushioning. Last but not least, its unique strap makes its heel optimally stable, keeping the wearer’s feet locked down.
The “Inferno” nickname of the colorway featured here probably gives a hint about what it looks like. The name refers to the Bright Crimson hue that covers a majority of the sneaker’s Hyperfuse upper, including its midfoot strap, outsole and vamp. The strap also features printed graphic details in Atomic Orange, which also covers the branding, while Black accents on the ankle, heel, laces and tongue add a contrasting touch to the sneaker. While it is the third colorway of the Kyrie 2, this “Inferno” rendition is among the first batch of sneakers that Nike dropped at the beginning of this year. Hence, the Jordan release 2016 of the Nike Kyrie 2 “Inferno” has already taken place on January 1st and it can be currently grabbed for $125.
