Sneakerheads who just read the title are probably thinking that “Kyrache” is quite an odd nickname for the latest colorway of his second signature model. Of course, many have also likely figured out the potential significance behind this brand new Kyrie 2 iteration, at least to some extent. Considering that the NBA regular season has reached its culmination, it is possible that the Swoosh will not be dropping an Elite version of the Kyrie 1 or Kyrie 2 anytime soon. The Nike Kyrie 2 “Kyrache” is obviously not an Elite version either, but its source of inspiration certainly makes it quite a special rendition.
While it should be obvious, Nike has published details that shed light on the fact that the Kyrie 2 “Kyrache” is inspired from the Nike Air Flight Huarache, which made its retail debut back in 1992. For those who are not exactly die-hard Kyrie Irving fans, here is a piece of information they might know. Kyrie was born in the same year that Nike had dropped the Air Flight Huarache for the very first time. Although it is this month that sneakerheads are getting the opportunity to cop a pair of the “Kyrache,” Kyrie already wore the sneaker on March 14 during a NBA regular-season against the Utah Jazz.
The Kyrie 2 “Kyrache” actually draws inspiration from a particular Air Flight Hurache OG colorway, namely the “Bold Berry.” Overall, this Kyrie 2 sports quite a classic and clean appearance, since its uppers are dressed up in a well-balanced combination of Black, Bold Berry, Blue and White. Even the soles are clean White, featuring a large Black-colored Nike Swoosh near the heels, while a Black-colored circular tag bearing Kyrie Irving’s logo can be spotted on the tongues.
It is being reported that the Nike Kyrie 2 “Kyrache” will be available on June 7th. Based on these reports, the men’s-sized pairs will be $120, while there will also be kids’-sized pairs that will retail at a price of $100.
