This weekend, sneakerheads will be hurriedly heading off to nearby Nike retailer stores, considering that the Nike release 2015 of the LeBron 12 “What The” is on its way. The sneaker is also slated to hit the shelves around the same time as the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low “Black Cat.” This new sneaker will be up for grabs in Metallic Cacao-Multi-Color/Phantom and it is being rumored that sneakerheads will only be able to cop a single pair.
According to Nike, the LeBron 12 “What The” is not the same as the previous “What The” iterations of the LeBron. The hybrid sneaker blends the players and teams of LeBron James. This latest “What The” rendition represents King James’ admiration for his favorite NFL stars, while it is also a nod to the Bronx and pays tribute to LeBron’s home state of Ohio.
The credit for the creation of the “What The” concept goes to James Arizumi, a designer who specializes in whipping up skateboarding shoes. The first “What The” iteration that James Arizumi created was that of the Nike SB Dunk. Each of the tongues feature a Dunkman and a Swingman logo, while the inner lining is covered in a colorful print and the University Red pair has a medial portion sporting speckled Safari detailing. Moreover, 3M detailing, an icy translucent outsole, a large “23” on the right sneaker and speckled midsoles are among the finishing touches that can be spotted on the sneaker. Speculations are that the huge “23” featured on the right sneaker is supposed to be a nod to the G.O.A.T of NBA, Michael Jordan.
Much like its predecessors, the upcoming “What The” colorway of the LeBron borrows elements from previous renditions, so it looks very abstract and different, which makes it hard to describe it accurately. Best of all, the Nike release of the LeBron 12 “What The” has already taken place recently on September 26th, and the it is currently up for grabs at a price of $250.
