An Air Jordan 7 “Bucks” paying tribute to Ray Allen’s early career was among some of last month’s final Air Jordan releases 2019. Nike’s “Art Of A Champion” collection from last year included an Air Jordan 28 colorway that was dubbed “Locked and Loaded.” This particular colorway drew inspiration from and was a nod to the historic three-point field goal that Ray Allen scored during the 2013 NBA Finals, which tied the game and enabled the Miami Heat to eventually win. Following his NBA draft, Ray Allen had been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and the Air Jordan 7 featured here is inspired by that period of his career.
Ray Allen Received An Air Jordan PE Set To Commemorate His Hall Of Fame Induction
Ray Allen, who has been an NBA champion twice and an NBA All–Star ten times, was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September 2018. Jordan Brand congratulated Ray Allen by gifting him an Air Jordan PE set containing four different pairs. This set included a mismatched Air Jordan 9 and Air Jordan 11 pair, an Air Jordan 16, an Air Jordan 20 and an Air Jordan 28. The mismatched pair drew inspiration from the 2008 NBA Finals, the Air Jordan 16 was dressed up in a Milwaukee Bucks color scheme, and the Air Jordan 20 and Air Jordan 28 were inspired Ray’s previous games.
This Air Jordan 7 Sports A 1990s-early 2000s Milwaukee Bucks Look
Between 1996 and 2013, when Ray Allen was playing as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, he laced up in numerous PE sneakers of models like the Air Jordan 11, the Air Jordan 13, and many more. The Air Jordan 7 you see here, which joined recent Air Jordan releases 2019, draws inspiration from all of them. Its uppers are made up of nubuck and are dressed up almost entirely in Black. Dark Forest Green-, Dark Steel Grey– and Fierce Purple-colored accents, inspired by the Bucks’ color scheme at the time, can also be spotted. One of the insoles also features Ray Allen’s signature branding.
