This Air Tech Challenge III “Black Denim” Inspired By Andre Agassi’s Denim Shorts

By now, sneakerheads have probably learned plenty from the retro releases that Nike has previously dropped from the Air Tech Challenge signature line of Andre Agassi, the retired professional tennis player. So it is unlikely that they feel surprised about the latest Nike Air Tech Challenge III that is going to mark its Nike release 2015 very soon. This upcoming colorway of the Nike Air Tech Challenge III is receiving the same acid-wash denim treatment that Nike has introduced with countless of its other signature sneakers.

Nike-Air-Tech-Challenge-III-Denim-Black-Anthracite-5Andre Agassi may not have many actual basketball ball achievements to his name, but he did become known for the myriad of flamboyant and outlandish looks that he sported on the court. Before he completely shaved off his hair and started sporting a shiny bald head, there was no doubt that he was the most ostentatiously extravagant Nike athlete. Even though his outfits never suited the country club, they did serve as a source of inspiration for numerous colorways from Nike’s entire tennis category. For instance, the Air Tech Challenge II “Grand Slam” was inspired by the time when Andre was once clad in denim and hot red, and this upcoming new iteration of the Nike Air Tech Challenge III also draws inspiration from Andre’s fondness for the denim material, specifically acid wash denim.

This new colorway, which has been dubbed “Black Denim,” indeed sports an upper that is made up entirely of black acid-wash denim topped with more black accents all over. Theonly trace of some contrast can be spotted in the form of this sneaker’s white midsole. The heel of this sneaker once again also sports the tennis ball logo.
