Stephen Curry, the point guard of the Golden State Warriors, managed to accomplish something that that likes of Bill Russell, Larry Bird, LeBron James, Magic Johnson and Wilt Chamberlain were never able to. May 10th marked the day when Stephen Curry became the first ever NBA athlete in the history of the league receive a unanimous vote to be elected as this year’s most valuable player because of his record-breaking season. This season, Stephen proved that he really is a revolutionary athlete and Under Armour decided to commemorate his achievement with a Curry “Back To Back MVP” Pack, which includes a Curry One and Two.
This season, Stephen Curry ended up shattering two different records. First, he scored a total of 402 3-point shots during this season, and second, he led the Golden State Warriors to the best-ever record of 73 victories with merely 9 losses. Even after returning from an injury, Stephen led his team to victory against the Trailblazers after scoring 40 points, 17 of which he scored in overtime. No wonder, the 131 voters voted for him as this year’s M.V.P., while they placed Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs second and LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers third.
This Under Armour “Back To Back MVP” Pack not only marks the return of the Curry One “MVP,” it also marks the debut of a brand new Curry Two “MVP.” Sneakerheads who have already seen or own the Curry One “MVP” likely know that it is a Black and White sneaker with Gold accents. However, the Curry Two “MVP” is a much bolder sneaker with uppers that are dressed up in a combination of Black and Gold. Of course, the quarter panels of both the sneakers feature signature branding, which can also be spotted on the tongues as well.
For those who do not know, Stephen Curry was also voted the M.V.P. during the 2014–15 NBA season, which is why the Curry One “MVP” had been whipped up. It has been confirmed that this Under Armour Curry “Back To Back MVP” Pack will hit the shelves on June 24th and its overall retail price will be a whopping $400 for both these sneakers.
