The week in which December 2015 neared its conclusion and January 2016 kicked off, Jordan Brand had dropped a number of Air Jordan retro releases. However, another unexpected thing that happened during the first week of January was that Instagram user @thesneakerilluminati had posted colored drawings of some never before seen Air Jordan retro iterations. It was revealed that these sneakers would be arriving at retailers over the course of this year. Judging from everything that has been revealed three of the five sneakers from the drawings, these could all possibly be Olympic-themed renditions, including the gym red and white Air Jordan 12 featured here.
One of the sneakers from the drawings that Jordanheads perhaps may have recognized is the Air Jordan 7 “Tinker Alternative.” By now, they are also likely aware that this iteration was designed by Tinker Hatfield as an alternative to the Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” and it never really got released. Recently, information and photos were also revealed of the two Air Jordan 5 colorways that can also been seen in the drawings, and it turns out that they are also Olympic-themed colorways. This leads to assumption that the two Air Jordan 12 renditions, which are the reaming two sneaker previewed in the drawings, could also possibly Olympic-themed too.
The gym red and white Air Jordan 12 that can be seen here in the photo shared by Instagram user @solespeed4image looks somewhat similar to the Air Jordan 12 “Atlanta Hawks” PE that was designed for Mike Bibby last year. While the photo seen above is not exactly clear and/or detailed, it is still visible that this sneaker features a predominantly gym red upper, along with a black heel tab and inner lining. As for the branding, midsole, outsole and overlays, they seem to have been left plain white.
Jordanheads are probably assuming that it would be too soon to know when this sneaker would be hitting the shelves. However, it is being reported that July 2nd is potentially the release date of this gym red and white Air Jordan 12 and its retail price will apparently be $190.
