Until recently, there were already three different strapped variations of the Air Jordan 1. One of them is the Air Jordan 1 High Strap from three years ago. The other two were among this year’s earlier Air Jordan releases 2018. Sneakerheads like you got their first look at the Air Jordan 1 High Strap back in February 2015. It was actually a rather subtle variation, basically the Air Jordan 1 High equipped with ankle straps that could easily be removed. Apparently, Jordan Brand has whipped up another Air Jordan 1 Retro High variation equipped with not one but two straps, which has been named the “Moto.”
The second strapped variation, one of two that were introduced this year, was the women’s Air Jordan 1 Lover that was a part of Jordan Brand’s “Reimagined” Collection. In this case, the Air Jordan 1 was modified to resemble an espadrille shoe and was equipped with adjustable ankle straps designed to provide “custom comfort.” Of course, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Moto is not the first double strapped variation of the model. Rather, that was the women’s Air Jordan 1 Double Strap, which made its retail debut back in January. The Air Jordan 1 Double Strap also recently hit the shelves in a Red and White colorway.
In case you have not figured it out already, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Moto actually draws inspiration from motor vehicles. Its cut appears to the relatively higher compared to the traditional Air Jordan 1 High, probably to accommodate the ankle straps that seem to be inspired by racing shoes. The throats of the sneaker appear to be made up of asymmetrical textured leather. Leather patches, which are likely inspired by the kick guards of motorcycle boots, can also be spotted, only the inner side of the left shoe. Last but not least, the tongues appear to be featuring a “23” patch with a racing aesthetic.
This very first photo of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Moto was posted on Fullress.com, but you can expect more to pop up eventually. Although there are currently no release details, you may expect it to joining the upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018 in the near future.
