Nike first introduced their proprietary Air technology back in 1978 when the Tailwind running shoe debuted. When the Air Max 1 debuted after nine years in 1987, the Air technology was on full display in the form of a visible bubble within its soles. This year, in celebration of the Air Max 1’s 30th anniversary, Nike introduced the Air VaporMax, which took the Air technology to a whole new level. 2017 has not even ended, but Nike is all set to drop two colorways of the soon-to-debut variation, the VaporMax Laceless. Not just that, the Nike Air VaporMax is apparently also going to become available on NIKEiD.
The most obvious notable difference between the Air VaporMax and its Laceless variation is the absence of laces, as its name suggests. Instead of laces, the midfoot of each Nike Air VaporMax Laceless shoe features an elastic strap. However, the uppers of the Air VaporMax Laceless are still made up of Flyknit material and each shoe is also equipped with a full-length Air Max unit. As mentioned, the Nike Air Vapormax Laceless will be making its retail debut in two different colorways, which have been dubbed “Black Night” and “Pure Platinum.” Along with their tonal color scheme, they both also sport tonal 3M reflective accents and translucent VaporMax soles.
The hype that the Air VaporMax caused has not even over and Nike went on to design this Laceless variation. By now, sneakerheads are probably eager to cop a pair of both or one of the two upcoming Air VaporMax Laceless colorways. Alternately, they could even get on NIKEiD and whip up their own 1 of 1 colorway from the four different tonal color options that will be available there, which have already been previewed. For the time being though, only overseas sneakerheads will be able to customize Air VaporMax on NIKEiD, once it becomes available.
The “Black Night” and “Pure Platinum” colorways of the Air VaporMax Laceless are reportedly scheduled to make their retail debut somewhere in December 2017, during the Holiday Season. Eventually, even sneakerheads in the U.S. will be able to design colorways of the Nike Air VaporMax Laceless on NIKEiD.
