In addition to being monumentally successful in the world of fashion and music, Pharrell Williams has also proven to be a breakout in the world of sneakers. In fact, he has an entire Hu collection of jackets, pants and sneakers, designed in collaboration with adidas Originals. He has even teamed up with adidas to whip up remarkable iterations of the Stan Smith and Superstar sneaker models, while he has also worked on a number of collaborative NMD releases as well. Their latest project between adidas and Pharrell is an Africa-inspired NMD Hu Pack that was unveiled back in January, which will be among the brand’s Fall 2018 releases.
Back in January, adidas officially unveiled two brand new colorways of the Pharrell x Tennis Hu, in a “Bright Blue,” “Bright Green” and a “Scarlet Red” one. They were revealed to be a part of the brand’s Spring releases, so both of them made their retail debut this month on March 2nd, 2018 at a price of $110. In celebration of the Hindu “festival of colours,” adidas and Pharrell collaboratively whipped up a “Holi” colorway of the Stan Smith, which is scheduled to arrive at retailers this month. Although March 2018 is nearing its end, more Pharrell x Tennis Hu colorways are scheduled to hit the shelves this month.
As mentioned, this latest NMD Hu Pack that adidas and Pharrell have worked on together draws its inspiration from Africa. The pack includes three different colorways of the NMD Hu rendition, all of which are dressed up in a multicolor color scheme along with tribal patterns and all three of them are equipped with trail-style soles. Each colorway also features distinct tribal African messages, namely “Empower and Inspire,” “Milele Mbele” and “Motherland.” Also a part of these sneakers is a lacing system that consists of a cage and two-toned laces, while they are also equipped with the model’s signature Boost midsoles.

According to initial reports and rumors, adidas was going to drop this pack during Fall 2018, but according to Yeezy Mafia, it is apparently now set to make its retail debut on August 18th, 2018.
