The very first photo of the adidas NMD TS1 Primeknit was leaked online on Instagram by @sneakerprophet_. At the time, it was a brand new variation of the NMD that adidas had not released yet. One of its unique features includes the fact that its lacing system has tongue flaps on top of them and its sides are covered in a synthetic material. The NMD TS1 eventually made its retail debut as a part of the mita sneakers x adidas Consortium “Cages And Coordinates” Pack on July 14th. adidas seems to have further modified the NMD TS1 by incorporating the GORE-TEX fabric into its construction.
What is GORE-TEX?
GORE-TEX is a fabric membrane that happens to be both breathable and waterproof at the same time. It happens to be similarly durable, lightweight and tough as nylon. However, unlike nylon, GORE-TEX does not trap sweat, but at the same time, does not allow any gas and liquid to pass through. Hence, footwear and garments that include GORE-TEX tend to remain dry at all times, no matter what the conditions. Of course, the NMD TS1 is not the first model from adidas to have GORE-TEX as a part of its construction. Examples include the Kanadia 7 TR GTX and the Terrex sneakers.
The NMD TS1 GORE-TEX “Triple Black”
The NMD TS1 GORE-TEX, Primeknit still has woven Primeknit uppers, while its sock-like ankle collars have the GORE-TEX fabric membrane incorporated into them. It is also equipped with Boost midsoles, EVA inserts, heel tags, and a shrouded lacing system that features lacing toggles. Additionally, “GORE-TEX” branding can also be spotted on the inner sides. Since this is a“Triple Black” iteration, so it is completely Black, with the exception of the branding text. While the photos accompanying this post are official ones, a release date has not yet been announced or confirmed. Nonetheless, you may expect this adidas NMD TS1 GORE-TEX “Triple Black” to make its retail debut soon.
