Back in June, adidas Originals teased a collaboration involving the Futurecraft 4D with four of the world’s leading and popular sneaker boutiques, namely Foot Patrol, Invincible, KITH, and Sneakersnstuff. The premise of this collaboration was that each of these four boutiques would design their own individual, unique iteration of the revolutionary Futurecraft 4D. The Invincible x adidas Consortium Futurecraft 4D iteration dubbed “Prism” already made its retail debut at the boutique in Taiwan on August 4th at a price of $400. Two months later, the Footpatrol x adidas Consortium Futurecraft 4D has been officially unveiled and it will be making its retail debut later in September 2018.
The highly-awaited and innovative Futurecraft 4D made its retail debut at adidas Consortium retailers like KITH, Packer and SNS in New York City on January 8th at a price of $300. Its revolutionary single-component midsoles of this high performance sneaker were crafted by Carbon3D Inc. using Digital Light Synthesis technology, which incorporates light and oxygen. As a result, they were comfortable, stable and well-cushioned. Its uppers were made up of Primeknit, ensuring that they were as snug as a sock when worn. Ventilation zones were also engineered into the uppers, increasing their breathability. Last but not least, the Futurecraft 4D was also equipped with Continental outsoles.
While the KITH and Sneakersnstuff iterations if the adidas Futurecraft 4D have yet to be unveiled, here is your first official look at the one designed by Footpatrol. One particular aspect of adidas Consortium’s this particular aspect was drawing inspiration from color theory. Thus, the Primeknit uppers of this iteration have been dressed up in multiple dark and light shades of green, giving it a multicolored yet tonal appearance. The outer adidas “three-stripes” on the sides are lighter, while the inner ones are darker. Its contrasting outsoles are Mint Green-colored. Additionally, Footpatrol’s “gas mask” logo can also be spotted on both tongues.
This Footpatrol x adidas Consortium Futurecraft 4D will be displayed at 15 Bateman Street as a part of a special exhibition during the London Design Festival on September 21st and 22nd. It will also make its retail debut at the Footpatrol store at 80 Berwick St, Soho in London on September 21st at a price of £400.
