Back in August 2016, rumors started to circulate that Jordan Brand would be honoring Kobe Bryant with the release of a special pack. Eventually, the Air Jordan Kobe Pack was introduced, and it was revealed that it would include colorways of the Air Jordan 3 and the Air Jordan 8 inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers. These were the two Air Jordan models that Kobe used to wear between 2002 and 2003, back when he had not yet signed with a footwear brand yet. While the Air Jordan Kobe Pack did not exactly make a wide enough retail debut, it has unexpectedly become available at Stadium Goods.
Even though Jordan Brand did not really make the Air Jordan Kobe Pack available to the general public, it was being rumored that its retail price would be a whopping $500. Kobe’s friend Chris Paul was one of the lucky ones to receive either of the two sneakers from the pack as a gift from the Black Mamba himself. In particular, Chris Paul received an autographed pair of the Air Jordan 3 from the pack. Back in April 2016 during Kobe Bryant’s final game, Jay-Z was spotted courtside laced up in the Air Jordan 8 from the pack, which he likely received as a gift as well.
Even though the Air Jordan Kobe Pack was not released to the general public, but the two sneakers have somehow ended up becoming available. Back when Kobe was deciding whether or not to sign with Nike Basketball, Jordan Brand had sent him special iterations of the Air Jordan 3 and the Air Jordan 8. For those who do not recall, the ones from the Kobe Pack are predominantly clean White sneakers with Grey-, Purple- and Yellow-colored detailing inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Some sneakerhead out there might just be able to join those select celebrities who at least have one of the two pairs from the Kobe Pack as a part of their sneaker collection. However, they will have to pay a visit to Stadium Goods and spend an outrageous $30,000 to cop both the sneakers.
