Jordan Brand’s “Graduation” Pack Celebrates Carmelo Anthony & Chris Paul’s High School Graduation

Back in January, John Calipari made a claim that suggested that college basketball graduation rates are at their peak this year. This is mostly false because student athletes have actually been graduating at relatively lower rates since 2011. Of course, the graduation rates of athletes are not a mark of academic achievement that should be overemphasized. Moreover, that does not mean that there are no NBA players who have graduated from college. For instance, players like Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul both happen to be college graduates. Apparently, even Jordan Brand is making this point more obvious because it seems that they are currently working on a “Graduation” Pack.

Jordan Brand’s “Graduation” Pack-2So far, just two sneakers from the “Graduation” Pack have been unveiled, both of which will be joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018. One of these is the above Air Jordan 12, which celebrates Chris Paul’s graduation from the West Forsyth High School. Borrowing the color scheme of the West Forsyth High Titans, the satin and suede uppers of this Air Jordan 12 are dressed up in two different shades of Olive. Black makes an appearance over the heels and inner lining, while the branding and its two upper metallic lace eyelets are covered in Gold. It is also equipped with plain Sail-colored soles. Additionally, “Class of 2003” is screen-printed onto the left insole and Chris Paul’s “CP3” logo can be spotted on the right one.

The second sneaker from Jordan Brand’s “Graduation” Pack is the above Air Jordan 13, which celebrates Carmelo Anthony’s graduation from Oak Hill Academy. Sporting the colors of the Oak Hill Academy Warriors, the satin and suede uppers as well as the soles of this Air Jordan 13 are dressed up in a blanaced combination of Black and University Gold. It is also equipped with the model’s signature holographic branding and some University Red-colored detailing can be spotted beneath the soles. Similar to the Air Jordan 12, “Class of 2002” is screen-printed onto the left insole and Carmelo Anthony’s “Melo” logo can be spotted on the right one

Jordan Brand’s “Graduation” Pack-3Apparently, even the Air Jordan 11 “Cap & Gown (Prom Night),” which made its retail debut on May 26th at a price of $250, is also a part of this pack. As of now, it is uncertain if there will be any other Air Jordan releases 2018 joining this “Graduation” Pack. Nonetheless, the Air Jordan 12 is scheduled to arrive at retailers on August 11th and the Air Jordan 13 is set to hit the shelves on September 15th, 2018.
