It seems that Jordan Brand is going to be introducing a brand new sneaker models along with all the Air Jordan releases 2019 this summer. It is certainly not a common occurrence for Jordan Brand to introduce a new basketball sneaker model that is not a part of their signature Air Jordan line. In fact, you probably cannot even recall the last time Jordan Brand unveiled such a model. Most recently, it happened this very year on January 10th, 2019 when Russell Westbrook’s Why Not Zer0.2 debuted. This new model named the Jordan Zero Gravity seems to be potentially inspired by it and even has a similar name.
Last year, Jordan Brand also introduced the Flyknit Elevation 23, which is another model that is not a part of the signature Air Jordan line. Jordan Brand apparently borrowed Nike’s Flyknit technology and used the Air Jordan 6 as the base to design this modernized variation. A unique aspect of this iteration was that each time Jordan Brand released a colorway, the branding it featured on its tongues was borrowed from another Air Jordan model. For instance, when it debuted, that branding that appeared on its tongues has originally been seen on those of the Air Jordan 14. Similarly, the next colorway borrowed the Air Jordan 7’s tongue branding.
If you feel that the Jordan Zero Gravity looks familiar, it is simply because it kind of resembles the Jordan Why Not Zer0.2. More specifically, its forefoot overlays appear to have the same shape. Despite being a low-top sneaker silhouette though, the Zero Gravity seems to have quite the detailed mesh uppers, which you can see have been split into Yellow, White and Fuchsia, from the toeboxes towards the heels. Its heel and tongue tabs are entirely covered in an equally bright Orange shade, while little Orange-colored “Jumpman” logos can be spotted on the tongues. Last but not least, its plain White soles are covered in multicolored speckles.
Considering that summer is getting near with each passing day, you may expect the Jordan Zero Gravity to make its retail debut among the Air Jordan releases 2019 in the coming weeks.
