Considering that it was back in 1997 when the Foamposites line had made its debut, Nike apparently decided to give it a modern take with a limited release of Foamposite sneakers that have been dubbed the Chuck Posite. A new official colorways are already on their way, but 23isBack readers and Nike enthusiasts will also be able to customize the upper with crocodile-inspired graphic, metallic colors and reflective accents. Moreover, glow-in-the-dark laces and outsole can also be added, and can even be splattered with paint speckles. One of the upcoming 2014 Foamposite release dates had already been confirmed by Jordan Brand, and it has finally arrived.
Even though the Foamposite material has been available on NIKEiD for customization for quite some time, this is actually the first time that an actual Foamposite sneaker can be customized. Apparently, Charles Barkley serves as the source of inspiration behind the design of these kicks, while a pair was also seenon Tony Wroten’s (of the Philadelphia 76ers) feet. The design actually looks quite futuristic, as if it is a computer render. Of course, that is not the case since the new colorway has already hit the shelves.
The new colorway of the Nike Chuck Posite has been dubbed “Eggplant” and “Suns.” The upper of the “Eggplant” colorway features a bluish and purplish gradient color combination, with black detailing and volt accents, and black and white patterns on the interior. An icy translucent outsole adds the finishing touch. The Charles Barkley-inspiration is also reflected by his signature logos on this pair.
23isBack readers most likely agree that there is plenty of room in the sneaker world for Nike Chuck Posite pairs. In fact, that is what will be happening, considering another “Suns” colorway of this model is also on its way with one of the upcoming Foamposite release dates attached to it. For now, considering that the Nike Air Chuck Posite is available in limited numbers, now is the perfect opportunity to cop it or personalize a custom pair on NIKEiD for $270.
