Earlier this month, it was hinted that Nikewould be bringing back the classic and renowned Air Foamposite Pro in some of the model’s most popular original colorways. The first of those colorways was apparently going to be the “Varsity Red” iteration that hit the shelves a long time ago, and now it seems that this is more than just a rumor. The latest update is that the Nike releases 2016 of the Air Foamposite Pro will actually take place in April and many more similar colorways of the silhouette can be expected to follow suit in the coming months.
The last time the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Varsity Red” was up for grabs was back in 2002. However, as mentioned above, it will not be the only Foamposite Pro colorway from the distant past that can be expected to make a comeback this year. In fact, some other Foamposite Pro iterations from years ago that are likely to return in 2016 include the “Dr. Doom” colorway and even the “Carolina” rendition, which became known for giving off Tar Heel vibes. However, the featured bright “Varsity Red” is likely the most anticipated and distinguished of them all.
Much like the version from 2002, the upcoming Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Varsity Red” is once again dressed up in a vibrant Varsity Red tone. In fact, much like other signature iterations of the Foamposite Pro, the upper of this “Varsity Red” rendition also appears to be somewhat iridescent. The eyestay, heel tab, inner lining, laces, Nike Swoosh logo and the tongue are covered in Black, which complements and contrasts quite well with the bright red. Moreover, even its shank that is made up of carbon fiber and the sole unit are also in Black.
Nike has not yet stated anything about the other returning colorways of the Foamposite Pro. However, the Swoosh was kind enough to allude to an April Nike release 2016 for Air Foamposite Pro “Varsity Red” and it will apparently retail at select retailers for $230.
