Packet Shoes is a sneaker company that is 107 years old and is currently owned by Michael Packer. For three generations, the company has been owned and operated by members of his family. It was back in 1907 in Yonkers, New York City when Michael’s grandfather and great uncle had teamed up to open the original Packer Shoes store. Since then, the company has undergone numerous changes, such as the store being relocated to Teaneck, New Jersey. Not too long ago, Packer Shoes had collaborated with Reebok to honor Allen Iverson. This time, a collaboration is underway between adidas and Packer Shoes involving a brand new NMD iteration.
Over the years, Packer Shoes has had clientele from all over the world. However, despite that, the company remains committed to the passionate sneakerhead community. Not only has the company maintained its heritage, it willingly blends the past and the modern. One of the reasons that the company is thriving so well today is because of its unconventional approach to marketing. When it comes to marketing, Packer Shoes mostly focuses on its products, which are predominantly the sneakers. Currently, they carry sneakers from a diverse range of brands like adidas and Reebok that they frequently collaborate with for custom projects.
The inspiration for the NMD Primeknit that adidas and Packer Shoes have worked on together comes from the Three Stripes’ athletic apparel from back in the 80s. Hence, the Primeknit uppers of the sneaker are dressed up in a combination of Clear Sky, Dark Blue and Light Aqua. Furthermore, the heel tabs and the pods are covered in a contrasting and vibrant Red hue. The finishing touch is added to this rendition by a combination of clean White-colored Boost midsoles and Black-colored rubber soles.
November 12th already marked the exclusive retail debut of this sneaker at the Packer Shoes store in New Jersey. However, the Packer Shoes x adidas NMD Primeknit will eventually receive a wider release and will retail at a price of $180 once it arrives at Nike retailers.
