A Closer Look At Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 6 From Before Super Bowl LII

Travis Scott recently provided an up-close preview of his Air Jordan 6 colorway that will be among next month’s Air Jordan releases 2019. Travis Scott seems to have been rather busy as of late. He recently teamed up with SZA and The Weeknd to sing a song titled “Power Is Power,” which is essential Jon Snow’s theme song as a part of HBO’s Game of Thrones companion music album. In other (not-so-favorable) news, a court has ordered Travis Scott to pay almost $400,000 to a Minneapolis-based promotion company for a gig he canceled on the day of the Super Bowl LIII.

Coincidentally, the Air Jordan 6 colorway featured here was first worn by Travis Scott days prior to his performance at last year’s Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show. Big Boi and Travis Scott were the two special guests who performed alongside Maroon 5 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3rd, 2019. It was the first time that Travis Scott performed at a Super Bowl halftime show. In honor of SpongeBob SquarePants’ creator Stephen Hillenburg, who had passed away on November 26th, 2018, Travis Scott was introduced by an animated footage from the Nickelodeon cartoon. He performed “Sicko Mode,” the second single from his Astroworld studio album.

You can now get a much closer look at the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6. In fact, you can even see the rear end of the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1. Even though it is not entirely visible, you can see that the Air Jordan 6’s uppers are dressed up in a Medium Olive shade, while Black can be spotted over the inner lining, midsoles and tongues. University Red makes an appearance over the heel loops, lace locks, and the “Jumpman” branding on the tongues. While you cannot see it in the photo above, Travis Scott’s “Cactus Jack” logo will also be embroidered on the heels.

A release date has still not been announced, but you may expect the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6 “Cactus Jack” to make its retail debut among upcoming Air Jordan releases 2019 during summer.

This Air Jordan 6 “Black Denim” Arrives During The 2019 Holiday Season

Reportedly, Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan releases 2019 for this year’s Holiday Season will include a washed denim iteration of the Air Jordan 6. The Air Jordan 6 has received the denim treatment twice before, although unofficially, so neither of those iterations hit the shelves. Of these custom Air Jordan 6 “Ostrich and Denim” designed by JBF Customs back in September 2013. JBF Customs used the Air Jordan 6 “Olympic” to serve as the base for his custom creation. As its nickname likely suggests, its uppers made up of denim and faux ostrich leather. It wasn’t until four years later that another custom, denim Air Jordan 6 iteration was designed.

Back in December 2017, Virtual Customs designed a custom Air Jordan 6 and Air Jordan 11 iteration, both of which were inspired by the Levi’s x Air Jordan 4 Collection that debuted on June 30th, 2018. Apart from a few differences, these custom iterations of the Air Jordan 6 and Air Jordan 11 looked alike. Apart from its tongues, the uppers of the Air Jordan 6 were entirely made up of Light Blue-colored washed denim and even its laces were made up of denim. Its midsoles were plain White, paired with yellowish, translucent outsoles. It also featured a Red-colored Levi’s label on the sides.

The image accompanying this post is a rendering of what the Air Jordan 6 “Black Washed Denim” may end up looking like, so keep checking back for actual photos. However, you may a majority of its uppers to be made up of Black-colored wash denim. Its laces might also end up being made up of leather. Several areas of this iteration will be plain Sail-colored, which will likely include its midsoles and its outsoles will probably have a milky appearance. Last but not least, Varsity Red-colored accents will also appear over this iteration, probably over some of the branding as well.

Unless photos are leaked in the coming months, Jordan Brand will probably unveil the Air Jordan 6 “Black Washed Denim” when they reveal their Holiday Season lineup of Air Jordan releases 2019.

Jordan Brand Is Releasing A Trio Of “Reflective” Colorways This Summer

Jordan Brand’s three upcoming Air Jordan releases are “Reflective” varitions of OG colorways from the Bulls’ first championship three-peat. Starting with the Air Jordan 6 that you can see above, you may have recognized that this “Reflective” is using the OG “Infared” colorway as its base. At the time when the Air Jordan 6 was introduced and Michael Jordan laced up in it, he was on his way towards leading the Chicago Bulls to their first NBA Championship victory. Instead of nearly all-Black, its uppers are now completely reflective. Black still appears over the heels, laces, midsoles and tongues, and the Infrared-colored accents are the same as the original.

Michael Jordan rocked the Air Jordan 7 in 1992, the year in which the Chicago Bulls won their second consecutive NBA Championship. This second Reflective iteration is a variation of the “Cardinal” colorway iteration, which was one of the five colorways from 1992. The Air Jordan 7 OG “Cardinal” was eventually re-released twice after that, once in 2006 and then in 2011. Once again, when compared to the original, 3M reflective material has replaced the plain White uppers. However, the Red-, Gold- and White-colored detailing, including the embroidered “Jumpman” logo, can still be spotted. Moreover, its soles are similarly covered in Black, almost entirely.

Last but not least, the third “Reflective” iteration that will be joining this summer’s Air Jordan releases 2019 will be that of the Air Jordan 8. More specifically, it is essentially the Air Jordan 8 “Bugs Bunny” but 3M reflective uppers instead of plain White ones. The OG “Bugs Bunny” colorway of the Air Jordan 8 made its retail debut back on April 20th, 2013 at a price of $160. Apart from the reflective uppers, this variation still features the same color blocking and detailing, which includes Black-, Grey- and True Red-colored accents. Even the chenille “Jumpman” logo on its tongues sports the same color scheme.
